About DJ Snook
Growing up in Edinburgh, Scotland, Darroch Snooks’ introduction to the DJ scene came from his DJ friend who had given him his demos -trance tracks which was a popular genre at the time. After watching his friend performing, Darroch was offered the opportunity to try his hand as a DJ…
Soon after, DJ Snook had his first set of decks and after meeting DJ Pete Anderson, the pair started a monthly dance night called Evolution with regular weekly house parties as well. This went on to lead to regular weekly gigs for DJ Snook through Green Monkey Events.
Then life took over for some 10 years, when Darroch arrived in Australia with his partner, ready for a new life. However, being the born DJ, he got back into the groove with a weekly gig in a Victorian town, Daylesford; then in Melbourne he entered and took out the winners’ award for a DJ competition. This encouraged him to study a course in electronic music production.
So, after a ten-year hiatus, the DJ decks were calling after inspiration from the music of Oliver Smith – and his melodic progressive trance from his Anjunabeats Worldwide session.
Soon after listening to this, DJ snook upgraded his gear and learned more about music production from EDM TIPS, an EDM production channel on You Tube.
Now, as DJ Producer we have an emerging artist delivering high quality melodic techno with a progressive / trance vibe; and he is certainly an artist to watch as he releases banging good floor fillers.
Recently, DJ Snook has been collaborating with a Brazilian artist, with 2 releases and another on its’ way, with the experience stretching the learning curve and now more artists are lined up to work on projects in other genres.
DJ Snooks’ motto:
Setting my sights on producing uplifting melodic dance that I hope will bring a smile to your face and bounce to your step.

Just like his enticing words and promises. Well, here is your opportunity to beat him - on the dancefloor! He can't keep up this swaying forever.. or can he?
A most exciting banter of a release from Dj Snook for a great floor-filler experience!

Dust to Desert
Second collaboration between Dj Snook and Reynaldo Costa.
This track brings to life the lyrics written by Dj Snook, that pictures the hazy world of a mind lost, from inhaling a substance and zoning out reflecting on anything; nothing; far away from the cares and worries of the real world...
just like sand that floats away from the desert in a windstorm...
An acoustic mandolin and real flamenco guitar together with Reynaldo's deep vocal speech all mixed and produced by Dj Snook
Similar to: Dust To Desert - Soel, Grigore, Zafrir, Space Motion, Nora En Pure and Deeparture.

I know You
Australian DJ Producer DJ Snook collaborates here with Brazilian
singer songwriter Reynaldo Costa. They have created a fusion of Australian and Latin house music
driven by a funky disco bassline and Latin percussion with the smooth acoustic charm of Flamenco Guitar and the authentic Latin vocals of Reynaldo Costa.
The result is a trio of musical works highlighting the rich tones of guitars weaving among the melodies of the synths.

Fire Stone
This is the first of Dj Snook's releases that has been remastered in DOLBY ATMOS
format.
The hook in the track is a haunting synth melody supported with a simple bassline
brass rather than string instruments and some quirky squelches and gentle sweeps.
The electronic piano phrases have a hint of a Robert Miles sound.

Nasty
A tasty little number with thumping percussions highlighted by the braam, vocal stabs and hand tom toms.
This has a feel of the mysterious deserts,
European flavours with the gypsy violin and hand tambourine...
But its the warping synths melding and weaving with the percussive beats....
DJ Snook is stretching his melodic melodies with instruments and panning to deliver something
rather sexy for the ears....

Stand and feel the Sunlight
Taking you back to the days of youth and happiness.
Spending time with friends at live music concerts without a care in the world..
A melodic techno from Dj Snook for those warm Summer days of fun
where the experience is like no other - good days, good friends, good music.

Take the Lead
An inviting melodic track that has that Summer open-air event feel.
With its enticing ramps of sawtooth accompanying the bouncy percussion
while moving along with the vocal hook as it drives into a melody that moves along rather than builds, swells and falls.
A touch of nostalgic memories of earlier concerts together with whats coming next.

Toxic Run
A bass heavy energetic track with a light melody led by vocal stabs and twists of synths
a great floor filler of melodic phrases and risers combined with pulsating beats to deliver a
fun -filled track

Where's my Whoompa
An uplifting bright track with its rythmic beats and a great whoomp whoomp of the brass over the synths and and electric piano - in the style of the late Robert Miles.
Once the melody moves along the second overlay synths add to the bright positive feel of the track and its upbeat sounds creating the desire to get onto the dancefloor.
A really lively floorfiller track that has its quirky hook to get you moving

Wishing you were Here
Bouncy happy intro...
The electric piano is the key to the composition
as the bass drives the energy and the vocals
enhance the emotions driven form the deep bass lines.
It gives the feeling of mixed emotions of wanting to be with someone; wanting to be alone
but the feeling of loneliness is deep and the need for company even deeper still.
Get on the dancefloor and dance like you never did before; and you will never be alone.
